On Friday, Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. (TRSL) announced that Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) had placed the company's largest-ever order, valued at ₹467.25 crore, with its Shipbuilding and Maritime Systems Division.
For the Geological Survey of India, the order concerns the building and delivery of two Coastal Research Vessels (CRVs). According to a release, the CRVs would support India's marine research infrastructure by carrying out long-duration scientific research, mineral exploration, ocean environment monitoring, and seabed geology studies.
Earlier, TRSL has delivered specialized vessels including CRVs for the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), the company said. The company has also performed projects like ICGS Kamla Devi (FPV) and MV Ma Lisha (Cargo RoPax) for Guyana.
