Power distribution company Tata Power-DDL has partner with the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL) for a period of five years to implement an extensive training programme for engineers.
The collaboration intends to upgrade skills, understanding, as well as leadership abilities in the power sector, thereby facilitating the establishment of a workforce with high qualifications. As part of this cooperation, the two organisations will use their brainpower and physical resources to offer a variety of propositions that appeal to senior and middle-level executives.
The training modules will include managerial and leadership development, strategic management, innovation, creativity, and corporate social responsibility. Also, technical programs will focus on power distribution management, implementation of the latest technologies, following safety standards, and improving consumer services.
"Such a link is the road to the future of the power sector in India,” declared Praveen Agrawal of Tata Power-DDL. "Our goal is to nurture the middle and top-level managers into experts with high leadership qualities and the skills to manage the change that is coming in the energy sector, thus preparing the ground for innovation, efficiency or sustainable development through our future professionals."

This initiative is an indication of the commitment of both Tata Power-DDL and BSPHCL to the establishment of a scheme for the supply of skilled personnel in the distribution network of electricity in India.
The combination of technical expertise with managerial training as envisaged in the programme is projected to have an impact beyond the improvement of operational efficiency in that it shall promote innovation and best practices in safety and customer service.
