Tata Electronics, a fast emerging company in the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing industry of India, has signed a strategic alliance with a global leader, the Robert Bosch GmbH. This was established with signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by both Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Electronics, and Dirk Kress, Executive Vice President of Semiconductor Operations at Bosch.
The collaboration seeks to pioneer innovative packaging of the chips and semiconductor production at the establishment of Tata Electronics assembly and test facility in Assam and the foundry facility in Gujarat. Besides semiconductor production, the two corporations will pursue synergies in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) with focus on automotive electronics unit as the companies address the increasing demand and formulate locally oriented solutions.
According to Dr. Randhir Thakur, this joint venture with Bosch will help improve our goal of establishing a robust, dependable component chain of critical technologies. “We will complement the effort in building a complete semiconductor ecosystem in India and ensure India emerges as a pillar of global electronics manufacturing.”

Dirk Kress also mentioned that the partnership with Tata Electronics represents a long-term value for Bosch to supply chain resilience and innovation, given the increasing speed of demand for next-generation automotive electronics.
Tata Electronics was one such group and was established as a greenfield project in 2020 with a presence in Gujarat, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, with more than 65000 employees. The company is concerned about inclusive growth by employing women and community initiatives provided in the areas of healthcare, education, and sustainability.
Bosch is a services/technology provider with 418000 employees operating in more than 60 countries worldwide. The company with sales in 2024 of 90.3 billion euros in 30 countries still inspired innovation in several areas like mobility, energy, and consumer goods.
