RailTel Corporation of India revealed that it has obtained a project valued at Rs 48.77 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
The work order includes choosing a system integrator to design, develop, and implement the Regional Information System for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, as well as establishing an Urban Observatory at MMRDA, Mumbai. The project is scheduled to be finished by 28 December 2027. RailTel Corporation, a "Navratna" PSU, is among the biggest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the nation, possessing a nationwide optical fiber network.
The standalone net profit of the company increased 4.72% to Rs 76.07 crore in Q2 FY26, up from Rs 72.64 crore in Q2 FY25. Operating revenue increased by 12.78% year-over-year to Rs 951.36 crore in Q2 FY26. RailTel Corporation's shares dropped 1.31% to close at Rs 331.50 on the BSE.

RailTel Corporation of India Limited is a “Navratna” public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, established on 26 September 2000, by the Government of India to enhance railway communication systems and develop a nationwide telecom and broadband network.
