Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foundational stone for a 1560 MWp solar and a 2500 MWh battery storage project of Avaada Group in Pugal, Bikaner, and also (inaugurated) a 282 MWp solar project in Shri Dungargarh. Both projects will bring an investment of more than ₹9200 crores into the renewable sector in Rajasthan.
Both projects signify Rajasthan's role as the epicentre of India's future clean energy. The total of 777-acre project will provide low-cost green energy to state discoms energy consumers.
The project across 4000 acres in Pugal will provide battery energy storage systems (BESS) to harness solar energy during daytime which will be supplied even after sunlight, it (pugal) will enhance green energy supply and reliability through innovation.

Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, said: “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, India has emerged as a global frontrunner in clean energy transition. This project, the largest BESS in India till date, will deliver round-the-clock green power, enhance grid resilience, and set new benchmarks for the nation’s energy security.”
Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, said: “These projects are more than investments in megawatts – they are investments in India’s green future.” Avaada has already commissioned 2.2 GW in Rajasthan, with a total portfolio of 5.7 GWp across India, furthering the nation’s goals of clean, self-reliant energy.
The two projects will also produce over 1600 jobs in Rajasthan, reductions of more than 20 lakh tonnes of CO2 annually, and savings of nearly 600 lakh litres of water with robotic cleaning systems.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said: “We thank Avaada for investing in Rajasthan and creating jobs for our people.”
