Lloyds Engineering Launches Defence Unit to Boost Local Manufacturing

Lloyds Engineering Works has launched Lloyds Advance Defense Systems, a wholly owned defense subsidiary aimed at tapping fast‑growing opportunities in the Indian defense market and driving indigenous manufacturing of advanced systems.

The move marks a strategic shift for the company as it positions itself to deliver high‑tech defense products domestically and align with India’s broader self‑reliance goals in the sector.

The new unit will focus on building capabilities across multiple domains, including drones, marine systems, radar and surveillance technologies. To strengthen its foothold, Lloyds has lined up strategic partnerships with global technology firms.

These include collaborations with Poland’s FlyFocus for advanced First Person View (FPV) drone solutions, agreements with Kliver Polska for marine and underwater system design, and a deal with Italy’s Virtualabs for radar technology development.
