KPI Green Energy stepped into Rajasthan’s booming renewable solar energy market by bagging a Notification of Award (NOA) of Rs 621 contract for balance-of-system (BOS) packages for the development of 500 MW grid- connected solar PV projects at Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The contract awarded through NTPC marked a strategic geographic expansion for the Gujarat-based company. The company commented on this achievement, stating that this project marks its entry into Rajasthan, strengthening its vision of entering into large utility-scale solar projects across renewable solar energy-rich states.
The project is structured across two blocks, a 300 MW project valued at Rs 367Cr and a 200MW one valued at Rs 254Cr, making the aggregate value of the contract to be Rs 621 excluding GST.
The scope of the project includes supply of equipment and plant, inland transportation, insurance, installation, civil and allied works, testing and commissioning, followed by a comprehensive operation and maintenance service for a period of three years post commercial operation date. The project also includes a decade-long annual maintenance contract (AMC)

Bikaner, situated in the Thar Desert belt, is known for having the highest solar insolation levels in India, making it the perfect destination for deploying a utility-scale solar project. Previously, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (REL) awarded a Letter of Award (LOA) to Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited for deploying a 200 MW solar project for a 1,000 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
