Confluent Medical Technologies has opened a new nitinol wire manufacturing facility in India, boosting output and strengthening its global medical device supply chain as demand for advanced medical components continues to grow.
The newly launched Nitinol Wire Center of Excellence in Hyderabad spans about 26,000 square feet and is expected to significantly increase the company’s production capacity. The expansion comes at a time when nitinol alloy—a nickel-titanium material known for its flexibility and shape-memory properties—is seeing rising use in minimally invasive devices.
This new facility will serve as a dedicated hub for nitinol wire production. As a result, the company’s existing site in Fremont will now focus solely on tubing manufacturing. By separating these operations, Confluent aims to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and respond faster to customer needs.
Company leadership described the move as part of a broader strategy to build a stronger and more reliable global manufacturing network. The investment is expected to support consistent production, reduce lead times, and ensure high-quality output for medical device manufacturers worldwide.

The Hyderabad facility meets international ISO 13485 standards, highlighting its compliance with global quality requirements for healthcare manufacturing. It is also designed to deliver precise wire dimensions with tight tolerances, which are critical for performance in healthcare applications. Lead times are expected to be around four weeks, helping customers bring products to market more quickly.
With over three decades of experience in nitinol processing, Confluent continues to expand its global footprint through strategic investments and capacity upgrades. The new India facility builds on those efforts, reinforcing its position in the growing medtech industry.
Industry experts note that demand for minimally invasive medical technologies is rising rapidly across global markets. By increasing production and improving operational focus, Confluent is positioning itself to better support innovation in this sector.
The development also underlines India’s growing role as a key destination for advanced manufacturing, driven by skilled talent, improving infrastructure, and increased global investment.
