India's space and defence sector has been experiencing high growth, driven by government initiatives which promotes indigenous manufacturing and higher budget allocations. India's Space-Based Surveillance (SBS) Programme is also making use of both private and public organisations to launch at least 52 satellites, making it a powerful tool that significantly advances India's capabilities in national intelligence and security. Not limited to privatisation, benchmark national strategies are equally important to enable private players like The Guild to contribute to India's growth; aligning frontier tech with national security.
India's political neutrality position also plays a major role in terms of potential space and defence exports to all countries. We could, perhaps, also lead the industry if India's national strategy guidelines are at par with those published globally, for it not only gives private players a clear picture of the current needs but also enables us to be prepared for what is next. The Guild's foundation is based on future-oriented innovation; which we can leverage if such strategies are published, to significantly contribute to India's growth in the space and defence sector.
Enabling Next-Gen Infrastructure for Space & Defence
The Guild has recently signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government for a second facility named "Base 002". Base 002 will primarily be used for the testing and qualification of India's most powerful semi-cryogenic reusable rocket engine.
This facility, once established, will also give access to a select set of relevant companies in their early or growth stage that are relevant to the aerospace and defence industry. It will have a proposed Centre-of-Excellence (CoE) will serve as a hub for advancing education, research, and industry collaboration in space technology within Andhra Pradesh and beyond.
Base 002 will house some of India's most powerful capabilities like power bed fusion (PBF) additive manufacturing and turbo pump testing facility capable of handling 72,000 RPM (India's highest rated) will significantly contribute to the research and development activities of startups, institutes, and companies. Base 001 which is 700,000 Sq ft., currently India's largest will also be used to facilitate startups for their research and development.
The Guild's affordable launch costs also enable startups to launch payloads into space, gaining accessibility to space with increased launch capabilities that accelerates their development, testing, and research. This ensures accelerated growth and progress for their development journey helping them to scale at a faster pace with access to precise manufacturing and strong capabilities that cultivate strong growth in innovation. While infrastructure expands, access to orbit remains fundamentally limited by cost.
Space access today is shaped by extreme concentration; in the recent Q3 Launch Report, SpaceX accounts for 97% of the total mass launched from the United States and 83% globally, with the remainder fragmented across smaller players. This imbalance is not market dominance but market dependence. At The Guild, we are engineering the world’s first fully reusable launch vehicle to transform orbital access from a largely unipolar landscape to a multipolar one, enabling nations and commercial satellite operators to launch at nearly 1/35th of the global average cost and increase launch cadence.
Every civilization rises because someone chooses to build the tools that move humanity forward. Today that responsibility is ours
Scaling From Launch To Logistics
Ethereal Exploration Guild's current roadmap involves the complete establishment and functioning of it's two main engine testing facilities. It moves from core propulsion milestones into full vehicle readiness. The facilities are set to perform the hot firing of the reusable booster and upper stage, alongside wind tunnel work, engine cluster firings, and stage level qualification. It also includes subsystem and auxiliary systems validation, including hop tests, faring jettison, thermal loading, vibration, and electrical system testing. Once the launch vehicle development foundation is in place, the Guild will extend its architecture to rocket point to point cargo delivery, enabling rapid global transport.
