Swan Defence and Heavy Industries (SDHI) is a defence export contract winner of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman. The company will provide a state-of-the-art training ship that will assist the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) in its advanced training on maritime operations.
The ship, anticipated to be made within 18 months, will be an evaluation breakthrough in reinforcing the powers of local shipbuilding and India as a global shipping centre.
Marquez's export order is not only a boost to the strengthening of the defence relationship between India and Oman but also highlights the robustness of their relationship. The training ship will be 104.25 meters long, 13.88 meters wide and have a displacement of up to 3,500 tons.

The vessel will also have modern classrooms, training offices and accommodation facilities that can accommodate up to 70 cadets in the officer training program, thus providing them with a world-class environment onboard.
The training vessel will be fitted with new state-of-the-art navigation apparatus, a modern communications package and the capability to handle helicopter operations and will be a multi-purpose vessel in terms of training and activity at sea.

The agreement is a huge move towards strengthening defence exports and enhancing the region in terms of its maritime relationship.
