India's Space Boom Driven by Startups and Youth, Says PM Modi

A remarkable surge is being witnessed in India's space ecosystem, with its future being shaped by over 200 startups, as highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his latest “Mann Ki Baat" address.

Driven by innovation, young involvement, and government support, the commercial space sector is becoming into a key driver of India's technical advancement and international recognition. Following astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's successful return from space, which was celebrated as a national milestone, stated by Prime Minister modi. “As soon as Shubhanshu Landed safety, there was a wave of joy across the country. Every heart swelled with pride, “the prime minister said.

The emotional impact of Shukla's return was compared to the historic Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing in 2023 by Modi, who observed how aspirations across age groups have been reshaped by these achievements.

“That moment changed the atmosphere in the country. It inspired a new generation. Today, even little children say ‘we will go to space, we will land on the moon, we will become space scientists’,” he noted. He further emphasized the entrepreneurial momentum building around the sector. “A new wave of interest in space is rising among our youth, and it’s shaping India’s future,” Modi added.
