The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ather Energy to strengthen India's electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing capabilities and support India's clean mobility ecosystem. This partnership is part of the Startup Policy Forum's program 'Build in Bharat', which supports innovation-based, hardware-oriented start-ups.
DPIIT and Ather Energy will work together to strengthen the entire EV value chain with infrastructure access, strategic mentorship, innovation challenges, and talent development programs. The partnership is meant to empower hardware and deep-tech startups aligned with our climate and industrial objectives.
Some key areas of collaboration include mentoring startups interested in core EV and battery technologies, co-creating innovation programs, such as Bharat Startup Grand Challenge, and participation in major events, like Startup Mahakumbh. Customary for start-ups, Ather Energy aims to expose start-ups to manufacturing by providing guided tours to manufacturing facilities along with opportunities facilitated for market linkage.
