Delhivery, India’s largest integrated logistics company, has rolled out Freight Index One, an open data platform aimed at bringing pricing transparency to the country’s freight and trucking market.
The platform delivers real-time, historical, and predictive Full Truckload (FTL) rate insights for transporters, fleet owners, shippers, and 3PL players, covering major trucking corridors and both open and closed container categories.
Rohan Anand, Head of Data Science at Delhivery, said the initiative fills a major gap in India’s logistics landscape. “Unlike global benchmarks such as the Cass Freight Index or the Freightos Baltic Index (FBX), India lacks a standardized reference for freight pricing. This leads to routing inefficiencies, cost uncertainty during peak seasons, and uneven access to critical information.”

“Freight Index One uses nearly a decade of Delhivery’s market intelligence, incorporating variables such as supply fluctuations, route viability, seasonality, and macroeconomic indicators like fuel costs, toll rates, and taxes,” he noted.
Freight Index One uses nearly a decade of Delhivery’s data, factoring in supply trends, route performance, fuel costs, tolls, taxes, and seasonality to generate reliable pricing intelligence. Built as a trusted benchmark for freight pricing, the platform enables better route planning, cost management, and load optimization. It also ensures consistent pricing visibility across logistics lanes, helping industry participants make informed, data-backed decisions.
Kapil Bharati, Chief Technology Officer at Delhivery, added, “Our goal with Freight Index One is to democratize access to freight rate data. By engaging a wide network of industry partners—brokers, transporters, and shippers—we will refine the accuracy and expand the coverage of the index.”
With a footprint across 18,850+ pin codes and over 48,000 enterprise clients, Delhivery continues to cement its position as a technology-driven logistics leader in India.
