There has always been a lack of transparency between the producer and the end consumer.

It is the startup community of the country that have come forward to help the farmers get their deserved price for raw materials and demand more respect from the society. Be it vegetables production or fisheries or animal husbandry, there has been emergence of companies from every segment that are trying to overcome the barriers
in the supply management system through advanced tech and various digital platforms.
First, if we talk about the technologies used in production, many have come under the radar. Each and every part of the production process has been mechanised and in majority of the areas, farmers no more have to use traditional ways for farming. Superior technologies for irrigation and seed sowing are now helping the farming communities in increased production along with better quality. Moreover, the use of these technologies ensures less human effort followed by satisfaction in farming.
The penetration of internet in the remotest corners of the country has also facilitated the farming communities at large. Many of the agritech companies are using modern digital technologies, especially in the e-commerce domain to break the supply chain barriers and bring the farmers produce directly to the consumers of the country. This has been one of the noble steps taken by the businesses looking at the current scenario of agriculture in the country. There are several breaks in the supply chain and the produce goes through several hands before it supplies to the demand in the market. Farmers do not get their deserved amount of money in the process. E-commerce systems allows the farmer the directly register their produce in the platform and attend to the demand in the market. This will provide them with a better capital earning.
Especially, in these hard times, when the whole country is under lockdown with only essential resources open, it is the farming community of the country that is providing the raw material to the market. It is high time that agritech start-ups come up with stronger plans to cope up with the current crisis and build a strong supply management systems for all the agricultural products in the country.
