
Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has secured a new government order which will enhance its position in the market of solar irrigation in India. Under a contract by the Haryana Renewable Energy Department (HAREDA), the company will supply, install and start up 792 solar water pumping systems in Haryana.
The contract will cost 23.54 crore with GST, and it will be eligible in Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme. The completion of the work must be completed within 90 days of the contract date.
Shakti Pumps will install their own solar-powered pumps which will be utilized by the farmers to irrigate their farms in the state. These pumps consume clean and dependable energy. They assist farmers to shun grid power and diesel pumps, and reduce the operating costs.

As one of the components of PM-KUSUM, the main goal of Component-B is to provide a consistent irrigation to the regions with poor or intermittent power. It also promotes agriculture to adopt renewable energy and benefits the farmers by saving them the energy bills.
The selection of Shakti Pumps demonstrates its good history, tried products and much experience in solar pumps. It has undertaken similar projects in most states within India under government renewable energy and water programs.
The pumps are technologically designed and it performs efficiently in various weather and water conditions. The new order is one more in the list of contracts that the company is getting and contributes to its purpose in the Indian clean-energies and sustainable-agriculture.
