NBC Bearings Partners With Ahamani to Boost India's Drone Tech

National Engineering Industries Ltd. (NBC Bearings), the flagship engineering firm of the CKA Birla Group, has sealed a strategic partnership with Ahamani EV Technology India Pvt. Ltd., marking a new chapter in India’s drone technology landscape. 

In a move that is aimed at rapid next-gen drone technology adoption into the Indian market, NBC Bearings will purchase 30% of the equity of Ahamani India, the local affiliate of the Taiwan-based Ahamani Advanced Inc.

The acquisition, which is announced on January 15, 2026, is a union of the strengths of Ahamani in high-technology drone platforms, power systems, and control technologies and the precision engineering and extensive manufacturing presence of NBC. The combination of skills is expected to provide an effective scaling, cost efficient, industrial and commercial drone solutions in India.

According to Rohit Saboo, President and CEO of NBC Bearings, the partnership allows the company to venture into high growth technology areas with engineering advantage. The alliance, he stated, is aimed at satisfying increasing demand of sophisticated drone systems as well as assist in the establishment of a greater domestic technology foundation.

Tzu Chi Kung, Founder and Chairman of Ahamani Advanced Inc. pointed out the increasing presence of India in the world market of drones. She explained that with local manufacturing capacity coupled with proven technology that Ahamani has, the market will grow faster, and they will be able to provide solutions that suit the Indian needs.

In line with the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, the alliance helps in localization and expanding use of drone innovations. Ahamani India is currently strategically placed to build an avenue of stretching high-performance drone systems and components that are specially tailored to suit the needs of the dynamic industry in India.
