Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that crop-wise and state-wise planning would now be undertaken by the government to align future strategies with the objective of finding suitable solutions. He is also optimistic about sowing of kharif crops would exceed normal levels this year, supported by a strong southwest monsoon.
The crop-wise review was emphasized by Chouhan to begin with soybean farmers in Madhya Pradesh on June 26, followed by reviews for cotton and sugarcane growers. It was stated by Chouhan that a targeted approach would be adopted for pulses, oilseeds, soybean, cotton, and sugarcane.

He was addressing media at a daylong review of the Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, a recently finished mass contact campaign. Regarding input availability, Chouhan stated that every preparation required to guarantee the successful Kharif crop sowing process has been made. The most recent data shows that Kharif sowing proceeded at a rapid pace in the week ending june 20, covering 10% more acres than the same period the previous year. This followed the southwest monsoon's ongoing spread throughout the nation.

Approximately 13.74 million hectares have been planted with Kharif crops by June 20. Over 1.32 million hectares of paddy, the primary food grain grown during the kharif season, had been planted, which is almost 60% more than the amount covered during the same period the previous year.
