A new scheme is going to be started by the Uttar Pradesh Corporation limited under which the consumers will be able to pay dues in installments. Consumers who are living in urban areas having electricity connections up to a load of 5 KW can pay their dues in 12 easy installments. However, for rural consumers, the due can be paid in 24 installments.
UP Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma said that registration for the new scheme
will be launched on November 11 and will continue till December 31. The scheme is only for LMV-1 or domestic consumers of urban areas up to 4 KW load and all consumers of rural areas.

Consumers would now have to pay five percent of the dues or at least a minimum of INR 1,500 as the first installment when they go to pay their October bill
The minister further added that with this scheme only those consumers would be eligible for the scheme who continues to pay power bills regularly on time.
