As Airbus turns to establish a full-fledged aerospace system in India, Mahindra Aerostructures will now assemble the fuselage of the H125 helicopter to increase its important role in the global operations of the company. The contract, which is granted to Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd., involves the principal fuselage of the H125, the highest selling single engine helicopter in Airbus. The fuselage will be manufactured at the Bengaluru plant, industrialization will start right now, and the first delivery is scheduled for 2027.
This announcement comes after an earlier April contract in the same H130 fuselage, reflecting Airbus's increasing the sourcing to India, which is already at 1.4 billion yearly. The company is a fully owned subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. that has become part of the growing global supply chain of Airbus.
Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director of Mahindra Group, said the agreement “strengthens our long-term partnership and reflects Mahindra and Airbus’ role in building India’s aerospace ecosystem.”
The wider plan of Airbus involves the establishment of final assembly assembly lines in India of H125 helicopter and the C295 military aircraft. These combined efforts will result in a full aerospace ecosystem including design, manufacturing, assembly, maintenance and training.

We are not just building helicopters in India; we are building an entire ecosystem that will contribute to developing and maturing the rotorcraft market in India.”
The H125 is used worldwide to carry passengers, in law enforcement, in medical evacuation and rescue missions. Airbus also intends to position the Indian-made H125 to both defence and civil purposes such as emergency medical as well as disaster response.
