Mahindra & Mahindra partnered with Samsung to offer digital car keys for its future electric SUVs, marking a shift towards keyless and connected mobility in the nation. The feature, embedded in Samsung Wallet, will render keys redundant and enable users to lock, unlock, and start their vehicle with some Galaxy smartphones.
In accordance with Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director of Services and Apps Business at Samsung India, Mahindra is the first Indian automaker to introduce this technology to market. Samsung Wallet currently supports digital keys for luxury cars like BMW, BYD, and Mercedes-Benz.
"We are very delighted that Mahindra is the first Indian auto OEM brand where we are integrating the digital car key feature with Samsung Wallet. Also, we have support for digital home keys with brands like Yale, as well as Samsung's own lock solution that's available in multiple countries and selectively available in India as well," Chaturvedi said.

Even when a phone's battery is run out, the NFC-based technology enables individuals to unlock and use their car on the phone's residual power, keeping them handy at all times.
