The India agricultural tractors market in India is projected to witness a CAGR of around 4.5 percent over the forecast period of 2021-2026. The tractor sales in India decreased in the month of April 2020 due to lockdown restrictions.
However, in the later phases, the demand for agricultural machinery including tractors increased due to higher Kharif sowing, good cash flows to farmers, a timely and normal monsoon in the country across June and July.
India is one of the largest tractor markets in the world, agriculture being a major sector of livelihood and a large portion of GDP. Pandemic doesn’t have much effect on Indian tractor market. Modern tractors are used for ploughing, tilling and planting fields in addition to routine lawn care, landscape maintenance, moving or spreading fertilizer and clearing bushes.
Wide range of tractors are available in the market with different horsepower range of 15 hp to 45 hp. Compact, subcompact and utility tractors are some of the types.
