9OCTOBER 2026Tamil Nadu's wind energy production is gaining another major capacity boost as Suzlon Group plans to invest Rs 200 crore in a new wind-turbine blade facility in southern Tamil Nadu. The plant, planned on a 40-acre site near Tuticorin, is expected to have nearly 1 GW of annual blade-production capacity and create around 2,000 direct and indirect jobs.It will manufacture blades for Suzlon's 5 MW S175 turbine and is targeted to become operational by early 2027. The investment is significant beyond the headline value because it comes as Tamil Nadu continues to add wind capacity while turbine manufacturers move towards larger machines and more specialized components. Dixon-Gemtek JV puts India firmly on the optical module map for high-speed data centers and AI networks. Dixon Technologies signed a joint venture agreement with Taiwan-based Gemtek Technology to manufacture optical connectivity products right here in India.The partnership brings Dixon's large-scale manufacturing strength together with Gemtek's deep expertise in high-speed optical modules.
