OCTOBER 20268Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is counting on timely engine deliveries to keep its HTT-40 program moving. Honeywell Aerospace aims to deliver all 16 engines by the first half of 2027. The company also expects to complete technology transfer by 2029, following earlier supply chain disruptions.Matt Milas, president of defense and space at Honeywell Aerospace, told CNBC-TV18 that the company remains confident about meeting these targets. It has already delivered four turboprop engines to HAL, including three in June 2026 and another shortly afterward. Four more engines are expected to arrive by the end of 2026. Indian telecom manufacturing is entering a new phase as Ericsson works with the government and suppliers to increase local production of components. The Swedish telecom equipment maker is assessing the availability of components in India and encouraging suppliers to examine whether more production can be localized.At the same time, Ericsson is expanding manufacturing for global markets: more than 15,000 antennas and 25 million components have been produced in India since July 2025, with India-made antennas already being exported to Europe and other markets. Jupiter Wagons has secured two Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The projects are located in Uttarakhand and West Bengal. Together, they strengthen the company's position in India's energy storage market. The projects were secured through Jupiter Energy Mobility (JEM Energy), the energy business of Jupiter Wagons.The company has won one project in Uttarakhand and received a formal Letter of Award for another in West Bengal. The combined project value is approximately Rs 200 crore. JEM Energy, in partnership with Madhav Infra Projects Limited, has emerged as the L1 bidder for Cluster C of a tender floated by Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL). India and Singapore are exploring a major power connectivity project under the ASEAN Power Grid initiative. The proposed India-Singapore power grid could enable 2,000 megawatts (MW) of cross-border electricity transmission. One option involves a 3,000-kilometer land-based corridor linking Imphal to Singapore through Myanmar, Thailand, and Malaysia.The project could strengthen regional energy trade, improve energy security, and support the integration of clean energy across Southeast Asia. The proposal was highlighted by Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, at the 20th East Asia Summit Energy Ministers' Meeting in Manila, Philippines, on October 8, 2026.
