The company expects the growing power demand to support major capacity additions over the next decade. NTPC aims to increase its operating capacity from about 91 GW today.It targets 149 GW of generation capacity by 2032, including 60 GW from renewable energy. By 2037, NTPC aims to reach 244 GW, excluding storage. NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Gurdeep Singh announced the plans at the company's 50th Annual General Meeting. Gurdeep Singh said the next decade will be one of the most important growth periods in NTPC's history. He expects India's electricity needs to rise as the economy grows. Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) opens its 4th manufacturing unit at Malanpur, Madhya Pradesh. The inauguration was done on 26th August, under the gracious presence of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr Mohan Yadav, and Nisaba Godrej, Executive Chairperson, GCPL.Hindalco's greenfield plant in Belagavi, Karnataka, marks a new step in India's advanced manufacturing capacity. The company commissioned the facility on August 27 to produce Superfine Precipitated Aluminium Trihydrate (PPT ATH). These are materials used in halogen-free flame-retardant cables and other fire safety applications.The greenfield plant has an initial annual capacity of 30,000 tons. Hindalco can expand the facility to 60,000 tonnes in phases. The project brings domestic production of this material to India for the first time. It also operates entirely on renewable energy, using biomass, solar and wind power for production Nestle's Growth is getting a major boost from India, which has emerged as the company's highest-performing market in the first half of 2026. Philipp Navratil, CEO of Nestle S.A., said India is leading growth across emerging markets. These markets include Asia, Latin America, and Africa. India is currently among Nestle's top 10 markets globally by revenue. The company also sees the country moving into its top five markets.Navratil said India offers strong opportunities across both value and premium products. Rising urbanization and a growing middle class are supporting this outlook. The company is focusing on deeper distribution, product innovation, and the right pricing. It aims to serve consumers across different income groups. India's EV market will reach Rs 20 lakh crore by 2030 and create five crore jobs, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced on wednesday. Speaking at a summit organized by the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, Gadkari revealed that India's EV market currently holds 57 lakh registered electric vehicles with seven per cent market penetration.He stated that demand stands at one lakh electric buses every year while manufacturers produce only 50,000 to 60,000 units annually. India's EV market growth will support the government's target to make the automobile industry the world's number one within five years.
