The company has secured its largest-ever single order valued at around Rs 641 crore from the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), reinforcing the strategic role of domestic manufacturers in the nation's power infrastructure development.Pumped storage projects totaling 20 GW capacities at multiple sites across the country are being worked on by the NTPC Group, as stated by a senior company official.The company plans to commission 3-5 GW of such projects by 2031-32 fiscal, "...NTPC Group is working on pipeline of pumped storage projects to the tune of 20 GW in NTPC and its hydro subsidiaries," the official said.THDC India, a subsidiary of NTPC, has developed a 1,000 MW (250 MW X 4 units) pumped storage project at Tehri The order is for the supply and servicing of the 765kV Transformer Package 7TR-12 Bulk. This major contract falls under PGCIL's Corporate Package for the procurement of 765 kV and 400 kV class transformers and reactors, supporting India's expanding power transmission capacity.CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd said, "It has been awarded `765 kV Transformer Package 7TR-12-Bulk for procurement of 765/400 kV 1-ph transformers under Corporate Package for the procurement of 765 kV and 400kV class Transformers and Reactors of various capacities with revised Methodology Lot-4', by the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd."According to the company's BSE filing, the delivery and commissioning of this project are expected to be completed within 18 to 36 months.CGP Power is a subsidiary of Murugappa Group and has nine factories in India and one in Sweden and employs more than 3,100 employees. As of FY2025, the company showed a consolidated income of Rs.9,909 crore indicating its strong position in the market. This order also makes CG Power a player that can supply the power to meet the future energy needs of India. in Uttarakhand. The initial unit commenced commercial electricity supply earlier this month. "We will see our first 1,000 MW PSP commissioned through Tehri PSP in FY26, with 3-5 GW more by FY32," he said.
