8SEPTEMBER, 2025SUZLON WINS 838 MW WIND POWER ORDER FROM TATA POWER RENEWABLEASM TECHNOLOGIES EXPANDS DESIGN-LED MANUFACTURING IN TAMIL NADUThe Suzlon Group, India's foremost provider of renewable energy solutions, has clinched its biggest order in FY26--an 838 MW wind power project from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). This is the second-biggest Suzlon order ever, only behind the 1,544 MW deal with NTPC Green Energy, and it indicates the rising importance of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects in India's clean energy transition. This plan includes the setting up of 266 S144 wind turbines of 3.15 MW each rated capacity, spread over three states, namely Karnataka (302 MW), Maharashtra (271 MW), and Tamil Nadu (265 MW). The project, which is the first FDRE auction shared between SJVN and NTPC, is a demonstration of the wind-led systems' ability to provide continuous, grid-stable renewable energy, thus, matching the Indian clean energy target.Reacting to the event, Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, stated, "As Tata Power Renewable Energy marches towards its 100% green energy goal by 2045, we are delighted to have our cutting-edge, `Made in India' wind technology be part of the journey. This third repeat order strengthens our partnership of the last ten years and common ideal of renewable energy solutions that have scalability, are reliable, and are cost-efficient."JP Chalasani, CEO, Suzlon Group, added, "We at TPREL continue to learn from and admire the speed and quality of implementation, as well as, technological breakthroughs. They placing their trust in us are a confirmation of how well we do."Established in Pune, Suzlon has a global wind power installation capacity of over 21 GW in 17 countries, of which 15.2 GW is in India. This has been made possible due to the company's own R&D centres located in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and India, respectively. ASM Technologies Limited, renowned for design-led manufacturing in the semiconductor and automotive areas, has in a move signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guidance, Government of Tamil Nadu, to invest 250 crore in expanding electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM) and precision engineering capabilities. As per the MoU, ASM will become the owner of a 5-acre land to set up a modern design facility in Tamil Nadu, the new tech-manufacturing hub. This is a targeted investment that will extend the company's long-term plans in sectors with high-value applications such as electronics, semiconductors, and renewable energy. On the occasion, Ratindra Srikantan, Managing Director, ASM Technologies Limited, said, "Our growth track just got brighter with this MoU. It will add value to our design-led manufacturing capabilities as well as keep us on our toes to innovate, be globally competitive and provide customer-centric solutions. Thanks to the Government of Tamil Nadu for their support."Preeti Rabindra, Director, ASM Technologies Limited, remarked, "This move highlights our commitment to delivering advanced design-led solutions in the ESDM sector while supporting India's rapidly growing manufacturing ecosystem. The new level of innovation, excellence, and global collaboration is accessible through this."Currently, ASM has developed facilities in Dabaspet (Karnataka) and Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu) where it caters to the needs of the clients from various verticals. Along with having a global footprint in the USA, UK, Singapore, Canada, Japan, Thailand, and Mexico, ASM continues to play a critical role in India's Make in India mission while strengthening its global engineering leadership.
