The 17-acre Mehsana plant will increase production space to over 50,000 square feet.NBCC has been granted a contract with the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) to construct an integrated township at the Chandrapura Thermal Power Station in Jharkhand to the tune of 498.30 crore.The contract, which is reported in a regulatory filing, places all the full-scale project-management consultancy (PMC) responsibilities on NBCC, including planning, design oversight, and implementation oversight.plan involves new high level manufacturing machines, robotics and automated fettling technology to enhance efficiency and throughput.According to the company, this investment will enhance repeatability in production, sustainability in tight quality, and reduce carbon footprint, which will support the transition of the industry to sustainable manufacturing.The Chairman and the Managing Director of PTC, Sachin Agarwal observed that it is the opportune moment, as the world is experiencing a structural change in manufacturing. The increased casting power will aid the company to serve its clientele globally better.Industrially, the Gujarat expansion plant is a significant step towards the larger plan of PTC to develop an all-inclusive manufacturing ecosystem. The additional capacity will be utilised by the company to contribute to the expansion of industrial, aerospace and defence markets.PTC already manufactures a broad spectrum of precision castings, such as pump casings, valve bodies, and impellers, at the Mehsana plant, to serve the world OEMs. As the company keeps expanding, it can easily scale the production process, enhance the resilience of the supply chain, and bolster its image as a dependable worldwide provider of high-integrity cast components. This contract highlights the growing PMC capacities of NBCC, which is one of the three main areas of its operations EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) and real estate. NBCC attested that the order does not entail any related-party transactions or is not classified as extraordinary business of the organization.Financially, the timing is advantageous. During the Q3, NBCC registered the 25 percentage year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to 156.68 crore owing to robust increase in total income. The township deal does not only enhance the status of NBCC in regards to large-scaled infrastructure, but it also goes in line with its growth strategies.
