9OCTOBER 2025ATSUSHI TAKASE OUTLINES MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC'S PLI, INDIA PLANSAVANTEL OPENS 56 CR DEFENCE TECH FACILITY IN HYDERABADMitsubishi Electric India celebrated its 15th anniversary in India, the Managing Director, Atsushi Takase, stated that India has an enormous potential to be the next global manufacturing hub.He further mentioned that, MEI will leverage the Make in India initiatives, Semiconductor and Digital transformation and also Sustainability to achieve new heights of success in India. "The next few years will be dedicated to work that will establish India as a leader Avantel Limited, a leading provider of satellite communications and defense electronics, has opened its second facility, India's defense and space technology ecosystem receive a significant upgrade.With a total investment of more than 56 crores, the 76,000 sq. ft. facility has been developed to provide cutting-edge innovations in the Indian aerospace and defence sector, in line with the Government of India `Atmanirbhar Bharat' vision.in the domain of innovation, smart manufacturing, and energy efficiency. MEI is indeed fortunate to be a major player in this journey," said Takase.MEI's revenue for the financial year of 2023-2024 has grown to 3,700 crores, which is 21 percent higher than the last financial year. The profit has recorded a two-fold increase of 94 percent year-on-year. The company has a paid-up share capital of 699 crores, and as of 621 employees.MEI has extended its presence in India with the establishment of the Pune Factory Automation Systems facility and the upcoming air conditioner and compressor plant in Chennai. These two investments indicate the firm's strategy of local manufacturing and Research and Development capabilities.Mitsubishi Electric India is one of the factory automation industries' major players who compete with Siemens, ABB, and Schneider Electric. While in the air conditioning segment, it is nicely positioned against Daikin, LG, and Blue Star.MEI serves major clients in the automobile, infrastructure, and convertible energy sectors. e-F@ctory, MELSOFT MaiLab, and MELSOFT Gemini, are some of the solutions with the help of which the company is providing smart and digital factory technologies to Indian manufacturers. This new facility will serve as a hub for designing, developing, and manufacturing advanced defense systems, with an emphasis on Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), radar systems, and satellite assembly, integration and testing (AIT). This will also permit the creation of Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS), a platform that allows easy access to satellite data for on-the-spot analysis and reception.The company plans to recruit more than 300 employees directly and more than 1,000 employees indirectly because of their intention to expand the aerospace and defense manufacturing sector in the state of Telangana.It is a major step in Avantel's long-term strategy as it firmly believes that this move will pave the way for the company to increase R&D activities, improve operational efficiency and achieve its goal of self-reliant innovation in defence technology."This day marks a new chapter in Avantel's upward journey and demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the `Make in India' mission," said Siddhartha Abburi, Director at Avantel Limited.R&D at Avantel will be home to state-of-the-art technology infrastructure, and the company will leverage it to build India's strategic communication infrastructure, and become a major player in the indigenous defense and aerospace technology movement of the country.
