(Sona Comstar), a recognized leader in mobility technology solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NEURA Robotics GmbH, based in Germany, for the joint development of advanced robotics and automation technologies. The agreement was signed in Metzingen, Germany, and establishes a strategic partnership to co-develop cutting-edge robotic systems, components, and sub-assemblies with the aim of revolutionizing manufacturing and mobility. In a major step towards self-reliant India, as part of India's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Goodluck India Limited's defense arm Goodluck Defense and Aerospace Ltd has commenced commercial production of artillery shells at its world-class manufacturing facility in Sikandrabad, Uttar Pradesh. The plant is operational with an initial rated capacity of 150,000 shells annually, with plans to expand manufacturing capacity in the near future. As part of the partnership, both companies will engage in the industrialization of robots and humanoids for the Indian market and other selected global geographies. The partnership comes at a time when artificial intelligence, advanced control, and perception technologies are enabling a new wave of intelligent automation across industries."We are enthusiastic about collaborating with NEURA Robotics to propel the upcoming generation of innovation in industrial and humanoid robotics. This partnership resonates with our strategic objective to venture beyond the automotive sector into a wider mobility ecosystem, facilitating the advancement of intelligent manufacturing and service industries," said Vivek Vikram Singh, MD & Group CEO of Sona Comstar.David Reger, CEO and Founder of NEURA Robotics, stated,"At NEURA Robotics, we recognise that genuine advancement in robotics emerges from robust partnerships that combine technology, engineering, and mission. The collaboration with Sona Comstar symbolises the alignment of two innovation pioneers: one transforming mobility, the other reconceptualizing intelligent robotics."Sona Comstar, internationally established in electric powertrains such as motors, inverters, and gearboxes, views this collaboration as a step beyond its automotive heritage into the mobility and automation ecosystem. This comes after the company was granted an important industrial licence under the Indian Arms Act, 1959, to manufacture a complete range of medium calibre artillery shells of varying sizes, including 105mm, 120mm, 125mm, 130mm, and 155mm. Goodluck Defense plays an important role in India's defense indigenization and Atmanirbhar Bharat programme. The facility has world class capabilities in forging, machining, heat treatment and surface coating of a variety of steels and alloys, suiting defense and aerospace applications. This will help build India's local manufacturing ecosystem, particularly for critical defense components, while reducing dependence on imports. In a related development, Goodluck India Ltd has partnered with BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) and Axiscades Technologies Ltd through a three-party MoU for development of an Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The consortium has submitted an Expression of Interest with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) gone Bengaluru, representing another strategic advancement of India's aerospace technology advantages.
