9DECEMBER, 2025"Our customers across diverse industries will be well-equipped to build high-performance machines with the futureproof ACS380-E drive with robust cybersecurity for maximum uptime and meeting regulatory demands of today and the future," he said.Engineered for automation-centric machine building, the new machinery drive supports applications across textiles, cable and wire, plastics, intralogistics, and other high-demand segments. It is built to speed up commissioning, installation, wiring, and assembly while staying ready for future cybersecurity rules. With embedded dual Ethernet ports and selectable protocols included as standard, the drive eliminates the need for extra modules, cutting down on setup time and system complexity. USB-C commissioning and firmware access through Ethernet make updates simple, helping machines stay secure and current. The ACS380-E supports common rotary motor types across global voltage ranges of 100600 V. Its motor control capabilities suit packaging lines, conveyors, extrusion systems, and multi-axis machinery. Designed for tight cabinet spaces, it integrates smoothly with major automation systems, including ABB's AC500 PLC.Available in India with ratings up to 22 kW, 400 V, the drive made its debut at ENGIMACH 2025 in Gandhinagar, running from December 3 to 7. ABB INDIA UNVEILS ACS380-E DRIVE TO BOOST INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATIONABB India has unveiled the ACS380-E drive, marking a strong push in advanced automation for today's fast-evolving manufacturing sector. As industries across India speed up digital adoption and move toward smarter, more connected factories, the ACS380-E drive enters the market as a timely solution built to simplify machine integration and boost overall performance.AR Madhusudan, President and Local Division Manager, Drive Products, ABB India, said, "As the Indian industrial landscape evolves with advanced automation and the rising need for energy efficiency, it is crucial for variable speed drives to adapt effortlessly to diverse industrial applications."BEML WINS NEW 414-CR ORDER TO EXPAND BENGALURU METRO FLEETBEML Limited has landed a new 414-crore order from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), giving a strong push to Bengaluru's growing metro network. The deal expands the scope of the driverless metro project under Phase 2 (Reach 5), raising the total supply from 60 trainsets to 66 driverless trainsets for the Bangalore Metro Rail Project. The latest order adds six more fully automated trainsets--36 additional cars--that will run on the Yellow Line. These trains will work smoothly with the Siemens signaling system, improving capacity and creating a more reliable urban transit experience for the city.Built at BEML's advanced facilities in Bengaluru, the new trainsets are made with high-tensile Austenitic stainless steel for strength and long life. Each six-car set includes two roof-mounted saloon air-conditioners in every car, aiming to give passengers a comfortable ride. This expansion is part of Contract 5RS-DM, awarded in August 2023 through global bidding. The base contract, worth about 3,177 crore, covers design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and long-term maintenance for up to 15 years.Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director, BEML Limited, said: "We are pleased to receive this repeat order from BMRCL, reinforcing our deep partnership and the trust placed in BEML's technological and engineering capabilities. These additional trainsets will significantly expand the operational capacity of Bengaluru Metro and support the city's fast-growing mobility needs. BEML remains committed to delivering world-class, energy-efficient, and reliable metro solutions for India's urban transit systems."Earlier in March 2025, BMRCL placed another 405-crore order for 42 cars for Reach 6, further solidifying BEML's position as Bengaluru's leading metro rolling stock supplier.
