9MAY 2025INDIA'S TOP CEMENT MAKER ULTRATECH EXPANDS PRODUCTION CAPACITYCOAL INDIA AND UPRVUNL JOIN FORCES FOR A 500 MW SOLAR PLANT IN UTTAR PRADESHThe nation's top coal mining company Coal India Limited has joined forces with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) to construct a 500 MW clean energy solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh. The initial agreement between CIL and UPRVUNL was signed on May 5, 2025 in Lucknow as the first step towards their joint green initiative.This solar plant is all about powering up Uttar Pradesh with clean energy while doing something good for the planet. It's a big part of CIL's plan to move beyond coal and dive into renewable energy, helping India get closer to its UltraTech Cement announced that the company has recorded an increased production capacity of 1.4 mpta. This increased production has been the result of various debottlenecking and enhanced efficiencies at various locations. At present, while the company's total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity stands at 184.76 mtpa, the global capacity stands at 190.16 mtpa.In its regulatory filing, UltraTech Cement mentioned, "As part of its capacity expansion programs, the company has identified several opportunities for debottlenecking and enhancing efficiency at various locations. We are pleased to inform you that some of these initiatives have been completed and stabilized, leading to an increased production capacity of 1.4 mtpa." The company has increased its production capacity in the Nagpur grinding plant by 0.6 mtpa, 0.4 additional capacity in the Panipat unit, and 0.4 mtpa in its Jhajjar grinding unit.The company released its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report earlier this year, in April. The report highlighted that the cement-producing company has made a profit of Rs. 2,482.04 crores, with 9.92 percent in comparison to Rs. 2,258.12 crores from FY24. The revenue from operations in FY24 was recorded at Rs. 20,418.94 crore against this year's Rs. 23,063.32 crore. The company's EBITDA is at Rs. 4618.4 crore. The company has also seen an increase of 17 percent in its sales volume this year. goal of 500 GW of clean power by 2030.
