In a filing to the BSE, L&T stated that the water and wastewater treatment business vertical of the Rajasthani public health engineering department had been awarded the contracts.The company said it has "won an EPC order for the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project' Phase II, Package-1." The project's scope encompasses "supply and installation of 5,251-km transmission and distribution pipelines, construction of 38 ground-level reservoirs with an aggregate capacity of 40 ML, 20 pump houses and 132 overhead service reservoirs with an aggregate capacity of 25 ML," it said.The project's goal is to supply water to 285 villages in the Jhunjhunu district, as well as the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati. Ajmer district's Kekri-Sarwar sector's water delivery infrastructure is being strengthened and rehabilitated as part of another project. 43-kilometer transmission pipelines will be supplied and installed as part of the project's scope. "This will meet the requirement of India's National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCOPR) that will use it for research activities in the polar and Southern Ocean realms," an official statement confirmed.
