Models such as the Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq and the TOP STORIESVolkswagen Taigun and Virtus continue to gain traction. Notably, the latest half-million units rolled out in just three and a half years, underscoring the rising demand for India-built cars designed to global standards.Skoda Auto India recorded its best 10-month run with 61,607 units sold in 2025, more than double last year. "Reaching the two-million mark is a result of continuous investment in people, technology, and localisation. Above all, it signifies the trust that Indian customers place in our six brands."Progress extended across luxury brands as well. Bentley India took shape with new facilities in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Porsche grew to 13 retail points and added more than 4,400 customers in six years. Audi earned accolades with the RS Q8, expanded its certified pre-owned business, and boosted its EV footprint through 6,500+ charging points. Lamborghini posted its best-ever performance in 2024 with 113 deliveries and launched the Temerario as part of its hybrid roadmap. Rolls-Royce's power systems division, which focuses on large engines, propulsion systems, and distributed energy systems, is celebrating 25 years in the country with more than 2600 MTU engines and generators operational across naval and land defense, mining, and power generation sectors."India for us, from a power systems perspective, the focus was Navy, Army, servicing the products, as well as some mining business and some emergency backup power for some hospitals, or some critical infrastructure," Giovanni Spadaro, President, Global Markets Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Managing Director, Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia.He further said, "What happened now is that, like in most parts of the world, the data centre boom has kicked in and is kind of changing the picture of India."From a historically 70 per cent governmental and 30 per cent other business, Spadaro said, "The business this year is moving closer to 50-50, and then going forward, the other business will be stronger." Spadaro outlined three pillars of growth: data centre, gas engines and uninterrupted power for semiconductor manufacturing for Rolls-Royce's power business in India from the non-governmental side.
