JULY, 20269Apollo Micro has secured a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order from the Indian Navy, marking a major step into autonomous maritime warfare. Apollo Micro will develop the SAVIOR-ASW, an unmanned semi-submersible vessel for underwater surveillance and anti-submarine operations.The project supports India's push for indigenous defense technology under the Defense Acquisition Procedure (DAP). The Hyderabad-based defense electronics company called the order one of its biggest indigenous technology milestones. The Make-II framework also gives confidence to developers. Under the program, the Indian Navy plans to procure successful prototypes after development. Odisha Approves Rs 4,574 Crore Projects Across 11 Districts in a major boost to the state's industrial growth. The new Odisha investment plan includes 23 projects worth Rs 4,574 crore. These projects will be spread across 11 districts.They are expected to create thousands of jobs. The approvals cover sectors like IT sector, textile sector, pharmaceutical sector, chemicals, steel, food processing, and renewable energy. The latest approvals came from the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. The projects aim to strengthen Odisha's position as a preferred investment destination. India is taking a bigger step in the global chip race with Semicon India 2.0. The new Rs 1.27 lakh crore programme goes beyond building chip factories. It aims to strengthen the entire semiconductor ecosystem. The plan covers chip design, manufacturing, packaging, research, materials and skilled talent. The Union Cabinet approved the programme on July 15. It builds on the progress made under the first phase launched in 2021.The government wants India to become a globally competitive semiconductor hub. It also plans to reduce dependence on global supply chains. The latest programme focuses on every stage of the semiconductor value chain instead of only manufacturing chips. The Paras Defence project has added fresh momentum to India's semiconductor ambitions. The company will invest Rs 6,200 crore to set up a semiconductor facility in Madhya Pradesh. The project will support India's chip mission and strengthen the country's electronics manufacturing ecosystem. It will also help reduce import dependence and improve domestic chip production capabilities.The investment will be made through Paras Defence's subsidiary, Paras Semiconductors. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Madhya Pradesh government for the proposed project. The facility will focus on OSAT operations, which include semiconductor assembly, packaging, and testing.
