With Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the charge and Minister HD Kumaraswamy on the helm, the blueprint works in tandem with the national aim of a developed nation by 2047, otherwise known as the Viksit Bharat vision.The mission plan of AMP 2047 is to make India a global leader in automobiles by being sustainable, innovative, and EVERTA, an international electric vehicle (EV) charging solution company, announced the opening of its DC charger production in India on July 17, 2025. The firm is constructing a plant in Bengaluru, which will be ready to operate by Q3 2025. EVERTA is going to produce 3,000 DC chargers by 2027 and control 15% of India's DC charging business by 2030.The firm will manufacture rapid chargers from 60kW to 320kW and beyond, catering to a broad portfolio of EVs from three-wheelers to cars, buses, and commercial vehicles. EVERTA intends to have over 50% domestic value addition in the initial TOP STORIESphase, aiming for complete localization subsequently, in sync with India's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.EVERTA has signed a technology licensing agreement with StarCharge, the world leader that operates more than 2 million charging points globally, to produce and maintain DC fast chargers in India. The Bengaluru plant is likely to create 400­450 direct and indirect employment opportunities.Managing Director Benny Parihar highlighted EVERTA's emphasis on making sure chargers are appropriate for Indian environmental and operational conditions. CEO Manasvi Sharma highlighted the company's emphasis on service excellence, both in terms of uptime as well as customer care.The debut comes as India aims to accelerate EV penetration and charging infrastructure growth, with the government aiming for 30% of new car sales to be electrified. Our focus should be on enhancing India's position in the global automotive market through innovation and superior quality."The roadmap has attracted public input including the following Ministries in the government, viz., Power, Road Transport, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Commerce, and premier industry organizations like SIAM, ACMA, FICCI, and CII.The AMP 2047 is organized into seven senior sub-committees and will work on some urgent issues such as EV technology, supply chain, and charging infrastructure development. These milestones are planned on a phased-but-concentrated basis in 2030, 2037 and 2047 yet will guarantee that automotive leadership of a worldwide nature is attained.
