Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that India achieved its highest-ever yearly growth in wind energy, adding 6.1 gigawatts (GW) of new capacity during the 202526 financial year. The milestone reflects the country's increasing focus on renewable energy and sustainable power generation. The minister described the achievement as a major step in India's clean energy journey. The strong growth highlights rising investment and continued support The government of India has revised aviation turbine fuel norms under a new order aimed at modernizing India's aviation fuel framework and supporting cleaner air travel. The updated rules, issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, expand what can be classified as aviation turbine fuel and open the door for alternative and blended energy sources. The revision of the aviation turbine fuel norms allows broader fuel composition, including synthetic hydrocarbons, blended components, and pathways for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), reflecting India's shift toward lower-emission aviation. It also permits ethanol blending and other alternative inputs that can reduce dependence on traditional fossil-based jet fuel. The Andhra Pradesh solar manufacturing project worth Rs 5,400 crore has taken a major step forward with its official groundbreaking, marking a fresh boost to India's clean energy manufacturing drive. The solar manufacturing project is aimed at building large-scale solar production capacity within the state, reducing reliance on imports and strengthening domestic supply chains. The initiative reflects growing investment momentum in renewable energy infrastructure as India accelerates its transition toward solar power.
