9JULY 2025CLEANMAX AND TOYOTA TSUSHO INDIA PARTNER FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY PUSHEPSON EXPANDS PRESENCE IN INDIA WITH NEW ECOTANK PRINTER FACILITYCleanMax, a developer of renewable energy solutions, and Toyota Tsusho India have partnered to build 300 megawatt renewable energy projects in India. According to a statement from CleanMax, the new collaboration intends to use the synergies between the two businesses to create and manage renewable energy Seiko Epson Corporation is growing its presence in India by establishing a local manufacturing facility for ink-tank printers, a key part of the company's longer-term localization and sustainability vision. Located in Sriperumbudur near Chennai, the facility will be operated with partnership support from Rikun India Pvt. Ltd., and projects for Japanese corporations in India. By 2028, the corporations hope to have the capacity in place.The partnership will provide comprehensive green energy solutions tailored to each company's needs, including rooftop solar projects, stand-alone ground-mount solar or wind projects, wind-solar hybrid projects and carbon credits. Kuldeep Jain, Founder & Managing Director, CleanMax, said, "The partnership solidifies CleanMax's strategy around global collaborations focused on helping corporations reduce their carbon footprint, while enabling the company to achieve its growth targets in a more capital-efficient manner."As of March 31, 2025, Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Private Limited (CleanMax), a Brookfield-backed business, had 2.2 GW of operating, owned, and managed capacity of operating renewable assets spread across India, the Middle East, and South-East Asia, making it one of the top Indian renewable energy companies in the C&I (Commercial and Industrial) sector.The seven business segments of Toyota Tsusho India Private Limited, which is a division of the Toyota Tsusho Group, are metals, supply chain, mobility, green infrastructure, digital solutions, and lifestyle services. the manufacture of EcoTank printers is expected to begin in October 2025.India has become a significant market for Epson; this facility is part of the company's wider move to strengthen local manufacturing capability, reduce the reliance on imports, and improve supply chain resilience. According to Junkichi Yoshida, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seiko Epson, India is strategically important for the company and its commitment to localized innovation and customer-centricity.Besides improving cost efficiencies, this shift will also help meet growing expectations for faster delivery, localized products, and improved after-sales service. Samba Moorthy, President of Epson India, also highlighted that the facility will eventually ramp up to 20,000 units a month and would employ approximately 200 people, supporting local job creation and the economy.This initiative supports India's `Make in India' vision and aligns with Epson's global sustainability goals of becoming carbon-negative by 2050 through efficient, localized production.
