OCTOBER 20268TOP STORIESTamil Nadu's wind energy production is gaining another major capacity boost as Suzlon Group plans to invest Rs 200 crore in a new wind-turbine blade facility in southern Tamil Nadu. The plant, planned on a 40-acre site near Tuticorin, is expected to have nearly 1 GW of annual blade-production capacity and create around 2,000 direct and indirect jobs.It will manufacture blades for Suzlon's 5 MW S175 turbine and is targeted to become operational by early 2027. The investment is significant beyond the headline value because it comes as Tamil Nadu continues to add wind capacity while turbine manufacturers move towards larger machines and more specialized components. Jupiter Wagons has secured two Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The projects are located in Uttarakhand and West Bengal. Together, they strengthen the company's position in India's energy storage market. The projects were secured through Jupiter Energy Mobility (JEM Energy), the energy business of Jupiter Wagons.The company has won one project in Uttarakhand and received a formal Letter of Award for another in West Bengal. The combined project value is approximately Rs 200 crore.
