9AUGUST 2026India's green hydrogen push is gaining fresh momentum as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) partners with Hystar AS. The tie-up targets the manufacture of PEM electrolyser systems in India. This green hydrogen move could support local manufacturing and strengthen India's clean energy supply chain.BHEL has entered a strategic partnership with Norway-based Hystar AS. The agreement will focus on manufacturing proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser systems. These systems are used to produce hydrogen through the electrolysis of water. Karnataka's industrial map is set for a major expansion. The state has cleared 83 new projects worth around INR 6,253 crore. The approvals cover aerospace and defense, food processing, IT services, industrial parks, sugar and ethanol, and renewable energy.The projects could strengthen industrial development across Karnataka. They also support the state's push to attract investments beyond Bengaluru. Of the 83 approved projects, 69 are planned outside Bengaluru. The latest approvals could create new manufacturing capacity across several districts. They may also support local jobs, supply chains and infrastructure. BEL's INR 600 crore Chitrakoot project could create more than a new defense manufacturing base. The project may also open opportunities for defense MSMEs across Uttar Pradesh. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) plans to set up the facility in Chitrakoot, strengthening the region's role in India's defense supply chain.The project comes as India pushes for higher domestic defense production. It also fits into Uttar Pradesh's wider effort to build a stronger defense manufacturing ecosystem. The facility will focus on advanced defense manufacturing. It is expected to support production linked to radar and air-defense systems. This could create demand for local suppliers and technology-focused businesses. The investment provides Inox Clean with additional capital to pursue acquisitions, renewable power generation, and solar manufacturing growth.Motilal Oswal has already deployed Rs 1,000 crore through compulsorily convertible debentures. The funding arrives after a Rs 700 crore investment from the Adar Poonawalla Family Office and takes Inox Clean's total funding since early 2026 to Rs 5,300 crore.
