The association is seen as having made a great milestone when it announced this decision on Monday.Along with the re-election of Mammen, the association has also elected Rajarshi Moitra, the new Vice Chairman of ATMA, who is also the Managing Director of Bridgestone India Pvt Ltd. Such changes in leadership are to build a strong industry body as it tries to overcome the changing environment of the automotive tyre industry.Moreover, ATMA has promoted Sanjay Chatterjee, the Assistant Director General of the association to the post of Director General. This is an appointment where the current Director General, Rajiv Budhraja, will retire on March 31, 2026. Promotion of Chatterjee is considered to be a strategic action in order to stabilize continuity and leadership in the organization.ATMA was founded in the year 1975 and it has been instrumental in the representation of the Indian automotive tyre industry worth more than USD 12 billion. The membership of the association is a combination of the large Indian and international tyre manufacturers, which participate in the production of more than 80 percent of the tyres in the country.These major transformations in leadership will see ATMA continue to stimulate growth, innovation, and sustainability in the Indian automotive tyre industry. MIC Electronics has secured a railway electronics deal worth INR 1.53 crore from multiple zones of Indian Railways, strengthening its role in the country's rail technology ecosystem.The Hyderabad-based electronics company will supply Electronic Location Units (ELUs) used in passenger information and communication systems across the railway network.The railway electronics orders were awarded through competitive tenders from several railway divisions and production units. The contracts collectively cover the supply of around 5,400 ELU units, which are essential for enabling communication between train coaches, stations, and central control systems.These electronic units help power passenger information displays and improve coordination within railway operations. By supporting real-time communication systems, the technology plays a role in enhancing efficiency and information flow for both passengers and railway staff.The company will deliver the units in phases, with execution scheduled between March 2026 and April 2027. The orders come from multiple railway zones, including Southern Railway, Central Railway, Western Railway, Northern Railway, South Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, and East Coast Railway, along with orders from railway production units such as the Integral Coach Factory.With these new contracts, MIC Electronics continues to expand its presence in the railway infrastructure segment. The company has been actively participating in tenders related to passenger information systems, LED displays, and communication equipment used across stations and trains.Winning orders from several railway zones in a single round of tenders highlights the company's growing reach within the railway electronics supply chain. As Indian Railways continues to modernize communication and passenger information systems, suppliers like MIC Electronics are expected to see steady opportunities in the sector.
